Version 2.21 – release date: February 11, 2020
We are pleased to announce the release of CPAL version 2.21.
This version features a partial rewriting of the simulation engine for better run-time efficiency, coupled with the use of the faster Visual Studio compiler for the Windows versions of the interpreter. The gains achieved on Windows range from a factor 5 to 10 depending on the simulation models. This provides a much better user experience for large simulation models in multi-interpreter mode (>100 CPAL processes running in parallel).
The interpreter now offers a –progress option to monitor at run-time the percentage of completion of a simulation.
Small improvements have been made to the documentation and the CPAL-Editor. For the latter, css style files have been improved and are now stored locally for environments with restricted internet access.
